Schoolchildren from French School in Belgrade Visit the Orchard in Čelarevo

25. september 2017.

Company Delta Agrar has once again welcomed 75 schoolchildren from French School to its orchard in Čelarevo.

The youngest children were mostly attracted by the apple harvest which was adjusted to their age. Smiling and shouting they picked basketfuls of apples which they later presented to other children in their school. The experts in the field of fruit production spoke to the children about apple varieties, method of their sorting, storing and packaging. They pointed out the importance of a healthy diet and regular intake of vitamins necessary for their growth and development, which can be found in apples.

“Throughout the year we organize numerous visits to our orchard, but the visit of the children from French School is one of our favourites. The children are very curious and like to see such a large orchard and take part in the harvest, while we have true pleasure to answer their questions”, said Dalibor Savić from Delta Agrar.

The orchard in Čelarevo takes up about 500 ha. Podunavlje agricultural estate produces world-renowned apple varieties: Gala, Braeburn mariri red, Golden Delicious reinders, Red Delicious and Granny Smith. The company produces Modi, Kiku and Pink Lady apples based on the exclusive license owned by only a few producers in Europe. The orchard is equipped with the most modern systems of anti-hail protection, irrigation feeding and anti-freezing.
